About this piece: David Bowie poses with William Burroughs during a photoshoot for an interview published in Rolling Stone magazine on February 28, 1974. Bowie had stated that the look and feel of his alter ego Ziggy Stardust had been inspired in part by Burroughs’ work The Wild Boys: A Book of the Dead.
