Recording Pin Ups by Mick Rock — Limited Edition Print

About this piece: Recording Pin Ups, Chateâu d’Hérouville, July 1973

‘In July 1973 David went out to the Chateâu d’Hérouville near Paris to record his new album, Pin Ups, a series of cover versions of songs he loved from Sixties London. I went out there to photograph him. Lulu was also flown in for two or three days to record a new single of ‘The Man Who Sold The World’.’ – Mick Rock

Mick Rock, often called “The Man Who Shot the Seventies,” was a legendary British photographer known for capturing iconic images of rock music legends. Born Michael Edward Chester Smith on November 21, 1948, in London, he became famous for photographing artists like David Bowie, Queen, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and Blondie.
