Description
Di-faced Tenner by Banksy
About this piece: Banksy’s “Di-Faced Tenner” is a provocative piece of art that critiques wealth, authority, and the media. It features counterfeit £10 notes where Princess Diana’s portrait replaces Queen Elizabeth II’s, and the text “Bank of England” is altered to “Banksy of England.” The note also includes phrases like “I promise to pay the bearer on demand the ultimate price” and “Trust No One,” reflecting themes of mistrust and societal critique. Banksy first released these notes in 2004 by dropping them into crowds at events like the Notting Hill Carnival and Reading Festival, creating a frenzy as people scrambled for what appeared to be free money. The notes have since become highly sought-after collectibles and even found their way into the British Museum’s collection. Framed with AR70 art glass (non-reflective and 70% UV protection).
Edition: Limited Edition. Includes Certificate of Authenticity
